Thanks to Adam

For the assist in the beer travels today, since the forecast calls for bad weather tomorrow, am hoping for an eloquent beer review.

Al

is on a roll!. This might be my new favorite blog. Not kidding. The beer label is just for the hell of it.

Is it a good thing

If you run out of cold beer to drink on the train ride home and you tap into the warm six pack that you bought for the weekend beer review!

Weekend Beer review!

Started Friday with an abbreviated Pub Crawl. Started at the Half Pint and went to the Blind Tiger as well. Had a good Lagunitas (Reuben & the Jets?) on cask and got to have a rare Brooklyn Brewery Savoir Faire. I think I am going to raise this up the flag pole and see who salutes. First Saturday after tax season do a proper pub crawl. Next Saturday I am heading to NJ to see the Devils. On the way back I may detour back to Brooklyn to go here. According to the Gotham Imbiber there are several good public houses in the area.

1) Sierra Nevada 2009 Bigfoot 9.6% ABV. Very Strong alcohol taste to this one. Good but not one to have if you expect to drink alot!

2) Flying Dog - Kerberos Tripel - 8.5% Good Belgian style ale.

Check back later, have some more goodies to try out. Since it looks like rain here today I may not be doing any epic walks so I will need something to do.

3) Two Brother's Brewing co. - Northwind Imperial Stout - Finally something good from Chicago. Very good stout. 8.5% ABV surprisingly drinkable.

4) Brooklyn Local 2 - I think this supposed to be a Quad. Very good!

President's Day Weekend Beer Review!

went to the Willimantic Brewing Company in the middle of this President's day weekend. Had a very good IPA on Cask and got a pint glass and a cool t-shirt.

1) Thomas Hooker - Imperial Porter - About 8% ABV. Very good and tasty. Can really detect the coffee flavor.

2) Goose Island Beer Co. - Matilda - Their Belgian offering. 7% Light and yeasty I like their stout better.

3) Hair of the Dog - Ruth - American Pale Ale. Light at 4.5% But still very good.

4) Paper City Brewery India'n Pale Ale - Go this at Ted's package store in Storrs, CY. Brewer from Holyoke...mild IPA, drinkable, won't put you in a coma!

5) Harpoon Leviathan - IPA 10% ABV Big beer very hoppy and tasty. What I like about this say maybe more than a Dogfishhead 120 is that you don't feel like you are drinking syrup!

Black History Month

Powerline provides an insightful analysis of this farce. I myself would prefer a D-Day soldier history month but I assume they don't teach that in school anymore or if they do it is probably our war of aggression on Japan and Germany or we didn't fight it in a green enough fashion. I also have been waiting for Alfred's diatribe on this celebration (like he needs egging on)

Friday Recon Activity

Went and scoped out one of the places on next Friday's little soire, the Peculier Pub. I had a Weyerbacher Old Heathen Imperial Stout 8% ABV, very nice beer to warm up after a chilly walk through SOHO. Followed up with a River Horse Tripel Horse a very tasty Belgian Style Ale. I've onlt seen this at Mountain View which figures. And lastly a Flying Dog Double Pale Ale 11.5% ABV definitely strong. I still maneuvered the subway pretty well after that.

Extreme Multi-Tasking

Am going to attempt, doing a beer review, my tax return & commenting on some Facebook picture from Uconn circa 1983. That said, here goes!

1) Berkshire Brewing Imperial Stout - 8.5% ABV...Very good & I think mild. Surprised at the ABV.

2) Newport Storm 07 Barleywine... I understand Adam, now! It took me about 4 days to recover from this one. It has been aged for 2 years and is not quite so subtle as I thought!

Happy Birthday!

to Babe Ruth & Ronald Wilson Reagan. Two great Americans, something we seem to be lacking now a days.

Apparently A-Fraud

had tested positive for steroids in 03. Should be a quiet spring training for the Yankees.

Probably one of many reasons

that I don't remember the 80's

Friday Pub Crawl

Started a day early at the Blind Tiger Ale House which is slowly becoming my favorite bar. Had a very good Thirsty Dog Imperial Stout. Have an itinerary for tomorrow so check back.

Continues...

Walked up Hudson Street last night into the West Village and came across Petit Abeille. This was a little restaurant where I ended up having the best beer of the night, a Scaldis Belgian Ale. Next up was Lederhosen, Ah I could almost feel a putsch coming. I had a Weltenburger Kloster Asam Bock. I stumbled across the next place, not really intending to go there, The White Horse Tavern. To me this is a tourist trap. Right around the block was the Spotted Pig where I had a cask pint of their bitter which was nice. Overall an interesting walk but I think I am going to stay on the east side for now.

Obama round-up

Not a good week for the anointed one:

Cabinet & taxes via Instapundit

Obama's tired of being in the White House via LGF

SecState begs Iran to unclench its fist, also via LGF

And the best quote via Powerline:

There are two kinds of people in the electorate: 1. People who remember how horrible the Jimmy Carter years were. 2. People who are about to find out.

In a new era of Bi-Partisanship

I will offer to file amended tax returns for Obama's cabinet picks at half price!

Superbowl Beer Review!!!!!!!!!

The aim today is to get higher than George Obama!

A photo is going to accompany this one, while I was roaming around this Friday's Pub Crawl I stopped at Whole Foods on E. Houston and picked up - Hair of the Dog - Adam! What a great name for a beer and a fellow drunk. It says it's an old world ale. To me it's a stout and is very high in alcohol content (10%). It is bottle conditioned which I think might increase the ABV. This is a well named very good beer!

Note this will be updated in (semi) real time like 24!

By the way is the label "Irish Drunks" repetitive?

Stone Brewing Co - Cali Belgique - 6.9% ABV - This bills itself as a Belgian influenced California IPA. I think I get it!

Insanely Bad Elf - Imperial Red Ale - Ridgeway Brewing - 11.2% ABV - Boy this is a subtle bomb! Can't believe it has more ABV than Adam!

Poll!

Who has inspired more insipid man crushes?
Bruce Springsteen
Brack Hussein Obama
